When the artist cared for hundreds of beautiful orchids in her home, she took sheer joy in creating the highly-detailed original. She thought she understood the beauty of this plant before she drew it, but learned to love it even more as she studied the various textures to ensure each was reflected in the drawing. Look closely - there are a lot of tiny purple hairs on the stem...thousands!
